We expect all students to work hard and behave well.
We have standards and expectations and we try to develop a strong sense of responsibility and self discipline.
respect & dignity
Each student MUST respect the dignity of himself/herself, teachers, parents and other staff in the school.
For married students, there shall be full respect of dignity of marital laws.
punctuality
No student should be seen loitering during classes.
Lateness in resumption from holidays will be punished accordingly. In case of unavoidable late resumption to school, parent should report to the school authority.
Every student must attend to all the school routine.
Seventy Five (75%) attendance to class is compulsory for any students to write examinations. In case of unavoidable lateness or absence, parents should report to the school authority.
Lateness to assembly will not be condoned.
Abscondment and Truancy will be punished.
dressing
Students MUST always appear in appropriate uniforms and be punctual to school and classes.
Students are to wear white canvasses or brown sandals (leather or rubber) no bathroom slippers.
Wearing bangles, dangling earrings and putting lipstick or mascara are strictly prohibited.
No perming or use of any chemical treatment of the hair is allowed. Hair should be plaited or kept short. Girls are expected to loosen and wash their hair weekly. Boys are to cut their hair low.
Bang or rough hair of whatever style is prohibited.
USE OF LANGUAGE
English is the official language in the school and is to be spoken by all students at all times, except in other language classes.
The use of offensive language, quarrelling, fighting and all forms of anti-social and
Undesirable behaviours are strictly prohibited.
DRUGS
Students caught smoking, drinking alcohol or any intoxicant will out rightly be dismissed.
MOVEMENTS
Students are not allowed to go outside the school premises without permission.
No student should be seen loitering around the school during classes.
VISITATIONS
No students are allowed to entertain visitors during school hours. Where necessary, permission must be obtained from the school authority.
LEARNING MATERIALS
Students must have all the relevant learning materials all the time in school. Complains on textbooks, notebooks, biros, pencils etc. will not be condoned.
Students must know that they are to copy notes in class which will letter be checked and marked by the subject’s teacher.
Laboratory coat is essential for science students.
SICKNESS
All cases of sickness in school should be reported to Health Master or Form Master.
No student is allowed to seek treatment outside the school clinic during school hours unless with a permission from the authority.
DAMAGE
Students vandalizing the school properties will be made to pay for the cost of repairs or replacement of such items. School furniture should not be moved from its designated location without permission.
PUNISHMENT
Basic kinds of punishment to be administered by staff to students:
Instant correction.
Transfer of hard core (stones)
Moving on knees.
Mopping of floors/windows.
Sweeping/picking litters within school premises.
Watering of flowers.
Copying of text material.
Dusting of Library books.
Replacement of damaged property.
Removing of cob webs.
Washing the school toilets.
Fetching of water.
Sitting on the floor in class throughout a period.
Flogging with braided rope.
Etc
OTHERS
Students are not allowed to keep any injurious object that may be used as weapon on themselves or anybody anywhere in the school.
Stealing is a very serious offence and could lead to suspension or dismissal.
No musical equipment, radios, camera, headphone or any other electrical appliances are allowed.
GSM phone brought to school will be seized.
No club, society or association may be formed in the school without the principal’s written permission.
Students are to report complains through the appropriate channels: - monitors, prefects, form masters before the Vice Principal.
Parents should note that double demotion could lead to expulsion and only students in final year will sit for external examinations.
